This tournament is open to NEBRASKA teams, only.  Out of state teams will not be accepted.  

Teams MUST BE registered to the age of the oldest player on the team.

Teams must play in their proper age group-- Teams will not be allowed to play up at any age group.

The Kohl's American Cup is hosted by the Nebraska State Soccer Association and will be hosted at Tranquility Soccer Complex and other locations, as needed in the Omaha area. The Kohl's American Cup provides recreational youth soccer players an opportunity to experience a consistent and high-quality statewide tournament in a fun, festival-like atmosphere. It fosters stimulation and excitement about soccer in an effort to increase the recreational players' interest in and love for the game.

The Kohl's American Cup is open to ENSA, CYSL and in-house leagues and lower teams in the U11 - U15 age groups and any division at U9-U10 age Groups.

Nebraska League and Nebraska Soccer League (NSL) teams WILL NOT be allowed to compete.   The Kohl's American Cup provides RECREATIONAL teams an opportunity to participate in a statewide tournament!

U9 - U10 teams will compete in a festival format with each team playing three games with no finals. U11 - U15 teams will play a three game round robin format with finals.

Participation awards will be giving to everyone at the U9 and U10 age groups. Individual awards to 1st and 2nd place will be given to U11-U15 age groups. Play will be governed by the FIFA Laws of the Game, except where amended by US Youth Soccer Rules of Play, and/or the Tournament Rules. No off-sides at the U9 & U10 Age Groups. Overtime and shoot-outs will be used only as necessary in semi-final and final matches. Overtime will not have a half-time.

Games shall be considered complete if one-half of the game has been completed and the Tournament Director stops play. Teams will be refunded $20.00 per game not completed for U9 - U10 age groups and $40.00 per game at U11-U15 age groups.

Team Eligibility
Secondary and Guest players must come from a team playing in the same division or lower and all rosters will be checked for compliance.  (Players who are primary on an NSL team and participate as secondary on a rec team - OR - players who are secondary on an NSL team and play primary with a rec team will not be allowed to participate.  This is a recreational tournament and not the place for players who play in competitive leagues.) You must have a Guest Player Form showing each player. You are allowed three (3) Guest players. Make sure you follow the recruiting rules by contacting the Primary Coach of the player you are asking to play with you, prior to contacting the player. Please note, a player may only play with one team in the tournament.

Players must be registered to the team making application. Teams consisting of not more than 12 Players for U9 - U10, 16 players for U11 - U12 and 18 Players U11 - U15 must be registered and in good standing with the Nebraska State Soccer Association. Teams may have up to three (3) guest players. Remember that Guest players must come from a team playing in the same division (ENSA, CYSL and in-house leagues) or lower and the forms will be checked for compliance. You must have a Guest Player Form showing each player. Make sure you follow the recruiting rules by contacting the Primary Coach of the player you are asking to play with you prior to contacting the player. Please be advised that Nebraska does not permit players to play with hard casts.

All players and coaches participating must have a US Youth Soccer player pass. Passes must have a picture and be laminated. If a coach plays unregistered players, coaches will be suspended, fined or both. All teams are also required to carry medical release forms signed by parents/guardians in the event that emergency medical care is necessary. Medical Releases are not required to be notarized; this is a policy of US Youth Soccer and Nebraska State Soccer Association.

The entry fee will be forfeited if a team withdraws after being notified of its acceptance.

Referees
We will only use US Soccer Federation registered referees.  A 3-referee system will be used at U11 - U15 competition. Referees accompanying teams to the tournament are invited to call games during the tournament. Individuals interested in refereeing are welcome to contact the Referee Assignor, listed above.

Referee abuse will not be tolerated during the tournament. Referee abuse by a player, coach or fans will be reported to the Nebraska State Soccer Association within 48 hours of the end of games.  Player(s), coach(es) or fan(s) in violation will be removed from the soccer complex and will not be allowed to return.

Scheduling Requests &Conflicts
Coaches who coach more than one team in the tournament need to make sure they have an assistant available at the tournament as we will not be able to accommodate every request for no conflicts. Additionally, it is unreasonable to request no early morning games.  Please email scheduling requests to marketing@nebraskastatesoccer.org.  

Accommodations
Your team registration fee includes the cost of referees, games, field painting, a referee assignor and a game scheduler. You will be responsible for transportation, lodging, meals and any other costs associated with the tournament.
